Help young people stay in school and/or work.

How can the City of Rotterdam prevent school dropout among young people and help educational dropouts more effectively?

Result: Central Point

The heart of this research converges on the word "central point". A central point of contact for both young people and supportive organisations, where the guidance for the young person is coordinated. Young people indicate they need more guidance and a familiar and reliable contact person. A central point can also improve communication between cooperating organisations.

This overview can be created in a digital environment, so that young people always have access to the information if needed. This solution will help guiding the young people toward independence.

Research: Splintered system

The organisations that support the educational dropouts do not work well with each other. Each organisation has its own way of working and professionals have their own rules which they must adhere. In addition, there is not one central point where young people can go to in an approachable way. The young people of Rotterdam lack overview in the options for support, what help is right and how they can ask for it.
